Sunco Machinery can design and manufacture rotary drum dryer machine for drying wood chips, sawdust, wood shavings, etc. As the features of wood chips, saw dust, and wood shavings are some different, thus the related design of the dryer machine should be optimized accordingly.
For drying sawdust with size less than 10mm, if adopt direct heating mode, and the needed output moisture content is around of 13%-15%, then our triple pass rotary drum dryer is suitable.
If the needed moisture content is less than 5%, because it is too dry and also with small powder size, if still use direct heating mode, then may cause fire inside the dryer.
Because usually the saw dust is made of wood chips which is with bigger size and thickness, in such situation, we can firstly use the dryer machine to dry the wood chips, and reduce the moisture content to be less than 5%, after that, to use wood mill to make wood chips into sawdust. To do it in this way, it is safe and more suitable.
For drying wood chips, in order to have better drying performance, it is better that the size and thickness of wood chips not too big. As wood chips is with inner water, the water needs to be evaporated out gradually.
For drying wood shavings, as it is usually very thin, it will be easier to be dried quickly. For wood shavings, the suitable moisture content is about 13%-15%, and it is suitable for packing and long term storage. It is not suitable to dry the wood shavings too much, otherwise wood shavings is easier to be broken and become wood powder.
Especially when wood shavings is used as animal bedding materials for horse which with big noze hole, the wood powder may be sucked into lung and endanger its body health.
