Oil Palm Fiber Dryer also is called EFB Dryer, Palm Fiber Drying Machine, etc. For one successful unit of oil palm fiber dryer system, high drying capacity with less fuel consumption and Less invest cost of equipment is necessary.
Client: Mr Jack this option is leaded to reduce the fuel cost.
We are trying for mechanical methods to reduce moisture from 60 to 45% using presses but was only 10% the reduction achieved.
Now we are trying to dewater the EFB using centrifugal drums.
We think if we reduce moisture before drying , the oil palm fiber dryer could be smaller and also the fuel consumption.
Jack: We fully understand your point “We think if we reduce moisture before drying , the dryer could be smaller and also the fuel consumption.”
Here please kindly note that:
1.The fuel consumption is influence by the moisture content and the input capacity.
For same input capacity and output moisture content, if the input moisture content is less, then the related fuel consumption will be some less accordingly.
In the oil palm fiber drying process, in order to get rid of the water from EFB, firstly needs to heat up the EFB to be certain temperature, after that the water can be evaporated into vapor gradually.
2.The oil palm fiber dryer size is influenced by the input volume of wet EFB. In the EFB dryer, it is not full of EFB, and there is certain ratio between dryer inner volume and EFB Volume, such as about 6:1.
For same input capacity of wet EFB, if we can find ways to reduce its volume, then the palm fiber dryer size can be some smaller accordingly.
In order to save fuel consumption and reduce the oil palm fiber dryer size, some suggestions as follows:
1.For Length is about 100-150mm EFB with moisture content 60%, its loose bulk density is about is 175 kg/m3, thus 10 tons wet EFB volume is about 57m3.
If we cut wet EFB and reduce its size to be less than 10mm, then its loose bulk density will be higher such as 250kg/m3, thus 10 tons wet EFB volume is about 40m3.
As you see, the total volume of 10 tons wet EFB is 17m3 less, then the dryer size needed will be smaller accordingly.
Question 1: For moisture content 60% EFB, please try to cut it to be less than 10mm, then check what is the loose bulk density (kg per m3) ?
2. As we mentioned last time, we have one type of biomass furnace, you can both to use natrual gas and biomass material as fuel. By using cheap boimass fuel, can help to save fuel consumption cost.
Biomass Furnace is as shown in below photos.
Question 2: For the oil palm fiber dryer machine, please kindly check that can you find and purchase the cheap biomass materials such as corn cobs, wood chips, pulverized corn straw, branches, barks, palm kernal shells, coal, etc from your local market ?
