Rotary Drum Dryer for Drying Slag

Rotary slag dryer also is kown as slag drying machine or slag dryer machine. It is widely used in the drying of wet materials such as large particles like limestone, silica sand, slag, river sand, clay, sludge, and slurry. Slag Dryer is developed from traditional rotary drum dryer.

Rotary Slag dryer working principle:

Wet slag is conveyed through the use of belt conveyor into the hopper. Through feeding pipe, the wet slag goes into slag dryer machine. Since the feed hopper connected directly to the drying cylinder, the wet slag is transferred to the drying drum through the use of the feed hopper. Once in the dryer drum, the slag is heated by the hot air. This is the beginning of the slag dying process.

Triple Pass rotary drum Slag dryer:

The slag dying process can be divided into three major parts.

The wet raw slag is heated in the rotary drum dryer. The hot air heats the wet slag causing the water contained in it to become  evaporate.

Enhanced drying of the slag inside the dryer. The presence of lifting boards welded onto the inner walls of the rotating drum; make the slag to move forward and at the same time making it move up and down. In the process, the wet slag being in contact with the hot air is sufficiently dried. As a result, the slag drying speed is greatly enhanced.

Clogging prevention. The presence of special cleaning devices inside the rotary drum dryer plays a significant role in getting rid of adhesive materials and the caking on the inside of the drying drum. As a result, clogging of slag is prevented.
