Drying chicken manure for organic fertilizer

Chicken manure is a relatively high-quality organic fertilizer, which contains about 1.63%, 1.54% and 0.85% of pure nitrogen, phosphorus (P2O5) and potassium (K2O). The chicken dung must be fully decomposed before application, and the parasites and eggs in the chicken dung, as well as some infectious bacteria, can be inactivated through the process of decomposition (retting). Due to the high temperature of chicken manure in the process of drying, nitrogen loss is easy to occur.

The wet chicken manure can not be used as organic fertilizer for the plants directly. If put the wet dung into the soil, then will ferment and generate heat gradually, and the heat will burn the roots of plants. 

As a result, before the application of chicken manure, to get rid of the water and make it to be dry manure is necessary.

For drying chicken manure continuously in mass production, in the market usually there are two methods:

>>> Method 1: To use mesh belt type manure dryer: It is to use several large blowers to blow the wet manure continuously, and usually it takes about one day to reduce the moisture content less than 30%.

        Its drying efficiency is low, and finally the manure is in lump, and not be dried evenly.

>>> Method 2:  To use rotary dryer for drying chicken manure: It is to use high temperature about 300-400 centigrades to heat and dry the wet manure quickly and continuously.

        Its heat and drying efficiency is high, and the final dry manure is in small particles.  Within about 20-30 minutes, then can get the dried manure with moisture content less than 30%.  As hugh amount of water needs to be evaporated into vapor to be got rid of, thus sufficient heat is necessary. In other words, it means that will need to consume much fuel as actual need.
