Working principle of wood shavings dryer machine

Optimized and Developed from traditional rotary drum dryer, wood shavings dryer machine is specially designed for drying high humidity wood shavings with moisture content up to about 50-60% continuously, which is good for set up one unit of assembly line in mass production. It has the features of stable work performance, low maintenance cost, easy operation, etc.

Working principle of Rotary wood shavings dryer is as follows:

To put the fuel (waste wood) into hot air furnace and light the fuel. Hot Air Furnace generate the dry hot air, and the high pressure draft fan makes the dry hot air into the dryer drum. The dry hot air not only heat the wet wood shavings, but also heat the dryer drum. 

Under the function of the lifting plate and special drum inner structure, the wet wood shavings moves up and down to the discharging end of the dryer drum, during this process, the wet wood shavings not only absorb the heat of the dryer drum, but also have strong heat exchange with the dry hot air. 

During this process, the humidity inside the wet wood shavings is heated and evaporated into water vapor, and under the function of the high pressure draft fan, firstly the dry wood shavings and exhaust air with water vapor goes into cyclone separator, and then the cyclone separator separates the dry wood shavings from the exhaust air and water vapor. The exhaust air and water vapor come out from the top of the cyclone separator, and then pass through the draft fan, then goes into chimney, and finally goes into atmosphere. The dried wood shavings come out from the outlet feeder which is installed on the bottom of cyclone separator.

For one successful set of wood shavings drying line, it is rather importated to find one balance point among the heat input, hot air volume, drying space, drying time, water evaporation amount, input capacity of wet wood shavings,etc. Usually during the installation, Sunco Machinery engineers will guide the clients make test run, and find out this point so that the dryer machine can work at the best state.
