Maintenance on Rotary Slag Dryer

For rotary slag dryer, in order to have good drying performance, production capacity and longer lifetime,  reasonable and timely daily maintenance is very important.

Rotary Slag dryer's maintenance tips:

▲ During the operation process, the barrel and liner should be checked after 6 to 8 hours.

▲ The operator shall monitor the running status regularly. By the way, the operator should have training in advance.

▲ The parts such as the dryer mainframe, transmission system, and bearing should be checked and cleaned after being put into use for about 6 months.

▲ The dryer mainframe should run stably and the temperature in the bearing house should be no more than 50℃ for the first using time. After testing for 30 minutes, the parts should be fixed tightly.

Common Problems on Rotary slag dryer

▲Why is the feeding port blocked in production?

Because the slag has a certain humidity and the particle size is not uniform. Under these conditions, it is easy to cause clogging and even the burning out of the lifting plate. There are two tips to solve this problem:

1.1 The operator should check the feeding status to avoid the bulk of slags from entering into the slag dryer.

1.2 The thermocouple should be installed at the flue pipe to monitor the temperature.

▲Why is a crackling sound inside the slag dryer?

There are two reasons: first, the material in the dryer is blocked; and second, the temperature of the dryer is too high, causing the burning inside the equipment.

When the material is blocked, we have to immediately shut down the machine for cleaning. When the temperature of the dryer is too high, we must reduce the fuel supply, so that the temperature of the equipment is reduced to meet the production requirements.

▲ What should we do if the dried material cannot meet the humidity requirement?

First, please control the feeding volume. Secondly, check the inside status of the slag dryer. Finally, increase the heat supply.
